How To Download Aadhar Card Online

Aadhaar is the largest biometric identification system in the world, where individuals are provided with a unique 12-digit number which is linked to their biometrics. It would not be an exaggeration to say that in future Aadhaar would become mandatory for availing the benefits of government schemes. Aadhar card serves as proof of address and identity as well.

Your e-Aadhaar card is an electronic form of your Aadhaar card. This means that you can use your e-Aadhaar for various government verifications. Like the Aadhaar card, the e-Aadhaar contains all the necessary information, such as your biometric data, demographic details, Aadhaar number, photograph, and general information, including your name, date of birth, and sex. To use your e-Aadhaar, you will need to download the same.

Steps for e Aadhaar Card Download by Name and Date of Birth:
In case you do not remember your Aadhaar number or EID, you can still download e Aadhaar by entering your name and date of birth. Follow these steps for Aadhaar card download:
• Visit Aadhaar website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/retrieve-eid-uid
• Enter your full name and either your registered e-mail ID or mobile number and the security code
• Click the “Send OTP” button
• Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on the “Verify OTP” button
• A message will appear on the screen informing the Aadhaar number/enrolment ID is sent to your registered mobile number
• On Getting your Aadhaar enrolment number/Aadhaar number on your mobile, visit the e-Aadhaar page on the official UIDAI website
• Enter your 28-digit enrolment ID or 12-digit Aadhaar number, Security Code and click on “Send OTP”
• Enter the OTP that you receive on your registered mobile number and click on “Verify And Download” to download Aadhaar

Get Aadhaar Card without Registered Mobile Number:
Without the registered mobile number, you cannot get your Aadhaar online. You can follow the below-mentioned steps to get Aadhaar without mobile numbers.
• Visit the nearest Aadhaar centre with your Aadhaar number
• Provide the required bio-metric details verification like thumb verification, retina scan, etc.
• Also carry other identity proof like a PAN and identity card
• The person concerned at the centre will give a printout of the Aadhaar card. A normal colour print-out on A4 sheet will cost Rs 30 (inclduding GST), while the PVC version will cost Rs 50.

e-Aadhaar Card Download by Using Enrolment Number (EID):
In case you have not got your Aadhaar card yet or have forgotten your Aadhaar number, you can still download the updated Aadhaar card by entering the Aadhaar Enrolment Number (EID). Follow the given steps below for e-Aadhaar card download by enrolment number:
• Visit www.uidai.gov.in
• Click “Download Aadhaar” option. You will be redirected to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar
• Enter your 28-digit enrolment ID, Security Code and click on “Send OTP” to generate an OTP.
• Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on “Verify And Download”.
• Now you can download an electronic copy of your Aadhaar Card.

Steps to Download e-Aadhaar Card by Virtual ID (VID):
Downloading Aadhaar number through the Virtual ID is the latest addition to UIDAI’s portal for Aadhaar download. Follow the below-mentioned steps for Aadhaar card free download using the virtual ID online:
• Visit UIDAI’s online portal
• Click “Download Aadhaar” listed under “My Aadhaar”
• Select the VID option
• Enter your virtual ID, security code and click on “Send OTP” to generate OTP
• e-Aadhaar will be downloaded to your system
• You can access it by entering the Aadhaar card password. It is 8 digit password to open the PDF file – first four letters of your name in CAPITALS and “Year of Birth”

How to Download e Aadhaar from DigiLocker Account:
DigiLocker has collaborated with the UIDAI to make it available to the cardholders on linking the DigiLocker account with Aadhaar. DigiLocker is a cloud-based platform for the issuance, storage, sharing and verification of documents and certificates in digital form which enables the select registered organization to provide electronic or e-copies into ‘digital lockers’ allotted to citizens. Follow the below-mentioned steps to download Aadhaar from DigiLocker Account:
• Login to your DigiLocker account https://digilocker.gov.in/
• Click on “Sign In” button and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
• Click on ‘Verify’ to get ‘OTP’
• Enter the OTP received on your mobile number
• Click ‘Verify OTP’
• ‘Issued Document’ page appears. Download ‘e-Aadhaar’ using ‘Save’ icon

How to Download Masked Aadhaar Card:
Masked Aadhaar card is similar to a regular Aadhaar card. The only difference between the two variants is that your Aadhaar number is partially hidden and only last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number are visible. It is aimed at protecting your Aadhaar number from being disclosed to others. Your masked Aadhaar card is equally valid as your regular e-Aadhaar. Follow the steps mentioned below to download updated Aadhaar card in masked format:
• Click on the link https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/genricDownloadAadhaar
• Select Aadhaar Number, VID or Enrolment Number and enter details depending on the option that you choose (Aadhaar Number, Enrollment ID or Virtual ID)
• Enter the Security Code and click on “Send OTP”
• Select the ‘Masked Aadhaar’ option
• Enter the OTP and click on “Verify And Download” to download the masked Aadhaar card

Steps to Download e-Aadhaar Card through Umang App:
For downloading Aadhaar card through Umang applicants need to follow the simple process mentioned below::
• Download and open the Umang App
• Click “Aadhaar Card” under all services tab
• Click “View Aadhaar Card From DigiLocker”
• Login with your DigiLocker Account or Aadhaar number
• Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number
• Click “Verify OTP”
• Now you can download electronic copy of your Aadhaar by clicking on download icon

How to Know Your Aadhaar Number on Mobile:
If you want to get your Aadhaar on mobile, you need to follow the below-mentioned steps:
• Visit the official website of UIDAI https://resident.uidai.gov.in/lost-uideid
• Select what you want to retrieve – Enrolment ID or Aadhaar Number
• Enter your name, registered mobile number or email ID and mention the security code
• Now click the “Send OTP” button to process further
• You will receive the 6-digit OTP on your registered number
• Enter the “OTP” and click the “Submit” button
• You will receive the Aadhaar number on your registered mobile number as a text message

How to Take e-Aadhaar Card Print after Download:
You will have to enter the 8-digit password to open your e-Aadhaar letter. The password consists of first four letters of your name and the year of your birth. After you download your Aadhaar card in the pdf format from UIDAI’s website, you can print your Aadhaar card online. The facility to check status and Aadhaar card download is available online.

How can you check where your Aadhaar is used:
• Open https://uidai.gov.in/ and under the ‘My Aadhaar’ drop-down, look below the ‘Aadhaar Services’ section and select ‘Aadhaar Authentication History’ option.
• On the redirected page, enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number along with the number shown in the CAPTCHA image. Then, click on the ‘Send OTP’ tab which will open the next page. You will also get a one-time password (OTP) on the registered mobile number through SMS.
• On the next page, the first option ‘Authentication Type’ is set as ‘ALL’ by default. The drop-down lets you filter to the specific type of authentication request such as demographic, biometric, OTP, etc. In the second option ‘Select Date Range’ you will need to manually select the dates from the drop-down. It must be noted that only the authentication done during the past six months are available in the database. Below that, in the third option ‘Number of Records’, you can check up to last 50 Aadhaar authentication records. And finally, in the OTP option, you will need to enter the OTP received on the SMS and click on ‘Submit’ tab which will open the next page.
• On the next page. you will be able to view the entire list of Aadhaar authentication requests. It shows all the places where your Aadhaar number has been used both successfully and unsuccessfully. The list can also be downloaded as a password protected PDF file. To open it, you need to enter the first four letters of the individual’s name in upper case followed by their birth year.

In case of any discrepancy in Aadhaar’s usage, you must contact the UIDAI by calling 1947 or sending them an email at [email protected].

How to Update/Correct Aadhar Card Name/Address Details Online?:
• Log on to the official website of UIDAI (www.uidai.gov.in) and click on the option saying ‘Update Aadhaar Details (Online)’. You can also visit the link: https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update
• Enter the 12 digit Aadhar number printed on your Aadhar Card.
• Enter the 4 digit OTP that has been sent to the phone number that you registered at the time of Aadhar enrollment.
• Check mark the Address box in the list of options provided.
• Fill in the address details that are to be updated and ensure that you fill all the details in the local language that had been used at the time of Aadhar enrollment.
• Re-Confirm all the details and submit the request to proceed.
• Scan and upload the self-attested copies of the selected identity/address proof and ensure that only the original documents are provided, to avoid any inconvenience in the future.
• You’ll be displayed an estimate of the time required to process and update your request by the UIDAI.
• Submit the Aadhar card update request.
After the request has been successfully submitted, an Update Request Number (URN) would be granted to you and will be displayed on the screen. This URN can be used to track the status of your Aadhar card correction/update request, by visiting the Update Request tracking page. (https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status)

Here is how you can update your date of birth on Aadhaar card:
• Visit the official website of Self Service UIDAI, ssup.uidai.gov.in.
• Click on the option ‘Proceed to Update Aadhaar’ on the homepage.
• On the page, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
• Complete the captcha verification.
• You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
• Enter the OTP on the page.
• Click on ‘Update Demographics Data’ to update the date of birth.
• Now, you will have to re-verify the details with the OTP received on your mobile number.
• You will now have to submit the required documents to support your date of birth update request.
It must be noted that you need to link your mobile number with your Aadhaar card before making any changes to the data which is printed on your card. To link your mobile number with your card, you will need to visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
