Namo Lakshmi Yojana

Namo Lakshmi Yojana is a financial assistance program, to help girls studying in classes 9 to 12, launched by the government of Gujarat. The aim is to improve girls’ enrollment and completion rates in secondary and higher secondary (9th to 12th) education.

The scheme “Namo Laxmi Yojana” by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, aims to encourage girls studying in government, aided, and private schools in Gujarat to complete their education from Class 9th to 12th by providing direct financial assistance. Each eligible girl will receive a total financial support of ₹50,000/- on completion of classes 9th to 12th under this scheme.

What is Namo Lakshmi Yojana?
The Namo Lakshmi Yojana is a flagship initiative launched by the Gujarat Government to promote girls’ education at the secondary and higher secondary levels. The scheme provides financial assistance to eligible students studying in recognized schools affiliated with GSHSEB and CBSE.

Apart from encouraging higher education among girls, the scheme also focuses on improving nutrition, reducing school dropout rates, and empowering female students financially.Study Grants & Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria:
A girl student will be eligible under the scheme if she fulfills any one of the following conditions :

• Completed Class 8 from a Government or Government-aided primary school in Gujarat and secured admission to Class 9.
• Completed Classes 1 to 8 under the RTE quota in a recognized private school and enrolled in Class 9.
• Students from other schools whose family annual income is ₹6 lakh or below after completing Class 8 and taking admission in Class 9.

Financial Assistance Under Namo Lakshmi Yojana:

Eligible students can receive a total financial assistance of ₹50,000 during Classes 9 to 12.

Assistance for Classes 9 & 10:
• Monthly assistance: ₹500 per month
• Duration: 10 months each academic year
• Annual assistance: ₹5,000
• Total monthly assistance for two years: ₹10,000
• Additional amount after passing Class 10 Board Exam: ₹10,000
• Total for Classes 9 & 10: ₹20,000

Assistance for Classes 11 & 12:
• Monthly assistance: ₹750 per month
• Duration: 10 months each academic year
• Annual assistance: ₹7,500
• Total monthly assistance for two years: ₹15,000
• Additional amount after passing Class 12 Board Exam: ₹15,000
• Total for Classes 11 & 12: ₹30,000

Overall Financial Assistance: ₹50,000

Payment Process
The Gujarat Government will transfer the financial assistance directly through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
Important points include :

• Money will be credited to the mother’s bank account.
• If the student’s mother is not available, the amount will be deposited into the student’s bank account.
• Schools will register eligible students through the Child Tracking System (CTS) Portal.
• After verification by District Education Officers, eligible students will receive payments through the dedicated Namo Lakshmi Portal.

Important Conditions:
Students should note the following conditions :

• Minimum 80% attendance is required to continue receiving monthly benefits.
• Students leaving school before completing their studies will not receive future installments.
• Already received assistance is not required to be refunded.
• Repeat students cannot receive assistance for the same class twice.
• Students who receive scholarships under other government schemes can also avail benefits under this scheme.
• Board examination incentives are paid after successfully passing the respective board examinations.

How to Apply for Namo Lakshmi Yojana:
There is no online self-registration for students. The application process is managed internally by schools through the Child Tracking System (CTS). Here’s the step-by-step process:

• Schools verify the eligibility of each girl student.
• Documents are collected and uploaded by the school’s nodal officer.
• The government processes payments via Direct Benefit Transfer every month.
• Students/parents can track payment status through the CTS portal or school authorities
